Hunkering down

We were wondering if being Mayor of Tiki Island is about like being Mayor of Margaritaville. As my sister said, the title just seems so…illustrious.

It’s almost 7 pm. Clouds are moving in and winds are picking up, though our average wind speed is only about 10 miles an hour. I haven’t checked on our highest gust yet.

Here is how the extended Ideus family hunkers down. We all tried for a nap this afternoon thinking we wouldn’t get much sleep as the storm rolls in overnight. Then, in a display of true haute cuisine, we supped on mac-n-cheese and bratwurst. :)

The humans are hunkering down Hurricane family cuisine

And we have a little hummingbird visitor who hunkers down in his own way, clutching on to our maple tree.

The hummingbird is hunkering down too

And, for your viewing pleasure, more on the infamous Galveston Sea Bear:

    Aloha,
Glad to get the word that all of you are safe and together. I finally got word this morning. Mom forwarded Johanna’s e-mail to me and it had the link to the blog. Oh and check out honolulu.gov, Mufi Hannemann does seem to be “illustrious”. Hopefully some “Aloha” will spread your way.
    Jim
