Adios Ike

I’m slowly tapping out this post on my iPhone in the Tomball Chili’s. We decided to take a drive so we could revel in air conditioning and charge our cell phones. We spotted Chili’s was open and thought heaven was listening. We’ll happily wait 40 minutes standing up if it means we’ll be refridgerated while we do it. :)
Still no power at home. Contents of the fridge and freezer are a loss. We’re missing one section of fence and will soon probably replace the whole thing (it’s got an alarming lean now). But the lack of electricity and a/c is most annoying. :) you don’t realize how much you rely on electricity until you’re without it. And it could be put for 2 weeks or more!

There are downed trees and power lines everywhere. It’s shocking to drive around and see all the damage. At the same time, it’s hard not to marvel that there’s not more damage.

Okay, my finger is tired ;) more later when we manage to find another working cell tower.

I’m sooooooo glad that you guys fared so well, and that the whole family (human and animal variety, both) is safe! My whole family sends their thoughts and best wishes. And we wish you the best on getting through *this* part of Ike!
