Move over Darcy

Move over Darcy. Don’t even bother, Captain Wentworth. A new hero has taken center stage in my heart: John Thornton as played by Richard Armitage!

Ho-ly toledo. The palpitations haven’t stopped yet!

I’ve recently become addicted to a BBC show called Robin Hood. LOVE the show and LOVE Guy of Gisborne played by Richard Armitage. So, after some quality time with Google and Netflix, I found more stuff that Armitage stars in.

I rented two episodes of Vicar of Dibley, even though I’ve never watched any other episodes, and laughed so hard I thought I was going to pass out. Sometimes when I’m watching shows by myself I don’t laugh out loud much–I feel little like a crazy loon giggling and cackling when no one else in the room. Seems almost as creepy as referring to myself in the third person… Nope, Becca doesn’t like to laugh out loud when she’s by herself.

Anyhoo, so my next mailing from Netflix was North & South. This little fangirl heart is all a-twitter, lemme tell ya. Armitage plays the part of Thornton like the role was made for him. He’s got such a commanding physical presence–tall and lanky, dark and handsome–and can pull off a brood to make Darcy jealous.

And what better way to introduce my friends to Richard Armitage and North & South than with another perinnial favorite? Here’s a great fan video set to With or Without You by U2. Get thee to a video rental!

More studies in purple

Another burst of crafting energy today! Can you tell purple is my favorite color? ;)

Bead May Madness

After a long hiatus I’m beading again. Just had so many other things going on! I started to feel restless and blah, so I knew it was time to work with my hands (and not my head) again. Over the last week or so I’ve put together two new sets and two new pairs of earrings. I love working with this brass metal from Vintaj and these ceramic goodies from Earthenwood Studio. And! I have a whole little basket of Earthenwood goodies waiting for my attention. Squee!!

I am in love with the two necklaces, but I can’t keep everything I make! I’d have way too much jewelry and my husband would definitely get tired of being the sole supporter of my beading habit. So, head on over to the Etsy store! :)

A shout out to my friend Ceridwyn who sent me this video that proves that kittens are some of the best entertainment available to humankind.

Hope: pass it on

I’ve been following Jen Lemen’s blog for some time now. Her love and compassion is so inspiring. Truly, the world needs more people like Jen!

Through Jen, I stumbled upon hopeREVO.com. The concept is simple: leave encouraging notes in your community. It’s a win-win prospect, I think. You get to inspire a little smile or extra hope in someone’s day, and someone gets a little smile or extra hope in their day. :) You can see how people do this in the Hope Revolution Flickr group.

If you’re observant, you’ve noticed two new features here in my cyber home: the red banner at the top and the new “Hope Revolution” section on the right-hand side. I realized that an important part of my personal community is right here. So now I share my hope with you. You’ll get a new hopeFULL thought each time you visit. If you have a hopeFULL notion you’d like me to add, just leave a comment. Let’s pass it on!
