Monday Madness - Late Friday edition

I am flabbergasted. Utterly, and completely. Perhaps even gobsmacked. What is the NFL thinking?! It’s disgusting enough that one of their star players is involved in an extremely high profile case of unadultered greed and brutality. But to take almost 4 months (minus 1 day) to announce that the guilty party (and he is guilty–he’s admitted it finally) is suspended without pay is incomprehensible to me. In my ordinary, middle-class-income job, I’d be booted out the door within days of my employers discovering I committed a crime. How does our society indulge these double standards? Yes, gobsmacked.

Their story is that they were conducting their own “investigation”. I think they were just waiting to see how he would plea. Frankly, I’m just thrilled that they suspended him with all the commentary out there that he should get a break. I know people who think he should be allowed to play ball again. Talk about gobsmacked!
