OMG, I love our new landscaping! It adds so much to our yard. And it finally makes it feel lived in. There are a couple of beds that have no plants–that will be my task this fall and next spring.
But most of my herb garden is planted! As promised, here are the before and after pictures. There are more pics of the process at my Flickr Photo Album.

You know you’re a redneck if:
- you let your horse sit on your couch
- you take your horse with you for burgers
- you train your horse to fetch your beers
As you know, we brought home a puppy a couple of weeks ago. My hubby has wanted a puppy for a LONG time, but I kept pushing back because I was afraid of how our cats would react. For the most part, though, they’ve been more accepting than I thought they would be. Except for one.
Toby is our sensitive boy. He was injured by another newcomer to the family almost 2 years ago. In fact, poor mister Toby had to have part of his tail amputated because of the boisterous explorations of our new (then) cat, Rosco.
So Toby has been quite nervous with Tex in the house. There have been times we have to pick up Toby and set him in front of their food bowls. But nervous doesn’t fully describe Toby’s reaction. He gets downright angry. With his sweet little face, you wouldn’t expect much beligerence. Take it from me: he’s feistier than he looks!
In fact, I told Toby tonight that he’s become a cantankerous old coot. He hisses and spits and growls whenever he’s around Tex. Tonight, I was cuddling with Tex and Toby jumped up in my chair. Tex tried to come say hi to Toby, and Toby popped Tex in the nose with his front paw. THUD! So now Tex is actually scared of Toby. I was feeling sorry for disrupting Toby’s life, but now I think I should feel sorry for Tex!
Some marketing genius way before my time said that there’s no such thing as bad PR. Well, I beg to differ. Take the latest Big Corporation Faux Pas: Miserly Burger King charges hurt kid for ice.
